ART QUILT BY LOUISE FALK - "I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE FRAMING OF MY QUILT, WE ARE THRILLED WITH ITS EFFECT"

"I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON ASERIES OF QUILTS ABOUT THE IMPACT OF BOTH WARS ON MY FAMILY AND THIS ART QUILT IS PART OF THAT SERIES - HARRY WAS KILLED AT PLOEGSREET IN 1916"

Louise Falk August 2012

THIS UNIQUE ART QUILT WAS STRETCHED OVER A MEDIUM WEIGHT STRAINER ON WHICH WE HAD ALREADY STRETCHED A LAYER OF CALICO - THE OUTER FRAME IS A MODERN TAKE ON THE STYLE OF FRAME POPULAR IN THE PERIOD OF THE GREAT WAR

HOW DID THIS BIG JOB START?

"Hi Neville,

I've been in touch with my client about his textile and he likes the idea of a box frame, likely with a black finish.

I've handed on your details to him so it's likely he might give you a call or organise an appointment to drop in and have a look. If he does want to come in, can you let me know and I'll meet with both of you with the textile to discuss the framing and backing colour.

Thanks again, Skye"

NOTE THE INSERTS - A TOUCH OF COLOUR IN EACH FRAME CORNER

AND THAT IMPORTANT FINAL POLISH BEFORE PLACING THE DUST JACKET ON AT THE BACK OF THE FRAME AND LETTING THE CUSTOMER KNOW OUR WORK IS OVER AND IT'S TIME TO SAY GOODBYE TO ANOTHER OF OUR FRAMING 'BABIES'

Skye Firth Textile Conservator, together with the team at Recherché Specialty Picture Framing

"What you see here, you do not see elsewhere. Neville has an artistic side and flair for what he frames" - said Lyn Fogarty on a recent quick visit in to say "Hi" ...

(Wow -something else to make our day today)

THIS MACHINE EMBROIDERED ART TEXTILE WAS FRAMED UNDER GLASS.

WE USED A HEAVY WEIGHT CONSERVATION BOARD WHICH IS BOTH FUNCTIONAL AND ALSO AESTHETICALLY PLEASING WITH ITS PLEASINGLY DEEP BEVEL

"If you're looking for a picture framer in Melbourne, you have come to the right place"
